Abstract | PDF (1.5M)

Abstract

Questions play an important role in teaching activities in general and in teaching literary work in particular and using questions has been one of the oldest teaching techniques. The question is how to use questions in such ways that the questions are systematically manipulated, scientifically effective so that they can stimulate students to eagerly take part in learning process. We strongly believe that it is possible to use Bloom’s taxonomy in making the questions up for the lesson plans as well as organizing the activities for teaching literary works so as to develop students’ thinking capacity – one of the capacities targeted by the current educational curriculum. The scope of experiment on using the proposed system of questions is applicable within the teaching hours of literary works to students of junior high schools.

Abstract

The hedonic’s problem in Nguyen Cong Tru's poetry has so far been criticized by many researchers. Nevertheless, the prejudice has clouded humanitarian and modernism values conveyed in the author's works. From the view of author’s typology, Nguyen Cong Tru could be regarded as an unorthodox confucianist – considering self-indulgence the mission and purpose of his life. Not only did he follow in his ancestors’ footsteps, but he also developed his own liberal style in his way of describing the deepest corners of human souls where earthly desires and instincts could easily be found. It could be seen from his works that human beings had never ceased wanting to enjoy both their physical and spiritual well-beings. It is also the way people treasure the present life, balance between work and pleasure to enjoy all dimensions of life. Such positive views and values in Nguyen Cong Tru's poems are far ahead of his time.

When Japanese literature was introduced in an overview according to the historical process in Vietnam is still open-ended question which is hard for any Japanese researchers to answer decisively. Finding the press materials published before 1945 allows us to realize the first steps in approaching the literature of the country having the same culture and scripts of Vietnam. It is fortune for us to find the serial article “Van chuong nuoc Nhut” by the author Lu Khe pubished in the Tu do newspaper in Saigon in 1936. Although only the two-term text of this article not full text was found, it helped us to envision the very first steps of introducing Japanese literature in Vietnam. We have read the article, and compared it with the knowledge of Japanese literature to realize the uncorrect knowledge of the author so that we can better understand the difficulties in the early time of the process of recepting Japanese literature in our country.

Electronic version: 30 Aug 2019 | DOI: 10.58810/vhujs.6.4.2019.6414
Abstract | PDF (1.9M)

Abstract

Iser was a prominent representative of the reception theory – the Konstanz school. He built his theory with a profound understanding of and serious respect for the literary text during the receiving process. In the first period of his studying, Iser focused on the reading and processing the literary text, and discovered that, during the reception, not only did the readers re-create the text but the text also re-created the readers, in other words, the re-creation process happened in a two-way manner. In the second period, Iser studied why and for what readers seeked out literature, and concluded that fiction and imagination enabled people to extend or get beyond the limits of reality, empowering them to build their own inner selves and the world as a game, in which they freed themselves from the burden of all disappointments and restrictions in life.
