About the Journal
The journal aims to publish research results from lecturers, staff, and students related to the training fields of Van Hien University. It also introduces domestic and international scientific achievements relevant to the university’s training disciplines, creating a forum for scientists, lecturers, doctoral students, and students both inside and outside the university to present their academic viewpoints and creative research outcomes with high practical applicability, thereby contributing to the promotion of socio-economic development in the new era.
The journal publishes diverse and rich review articles and research articles across various fields, including Economics, Literature, Psychology, Culture, Information Technology, Arts, Food Technology, Agriculture, Engineering and Technology, etc. The journal is widely distributed to universities, colleges, research institutes, research centers, as well as readers nationwide.
Since 2017, the journal has had 03 disciplines included in the list of scored journals by the State Council of Professors: Literature, Economics, and the interdisciplinary field of Culture – Arts – Physical Education – Sports – Tourism. Currently, the journal has 04 recognized disciplines: Literature (0.75), Economics (0.5), Culture – Arts – Physical Education – Sports – Tourism (0.5), and Education (0.25).
All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo plagiarism checking and double-blind peer review to ensure academic quality and compliance with scientific integrity standards. The entire editing process is handled through an online publishing system, following the workflow from manuscript receipt to the publication of both print and electronic versions.
The journal is published periodically with 6 issues per year, including:
- 04 issues in Vietnamese, published in April, June, October, and December;
- 02 issues in English, published in February and August.
The Van Hien University Journal of Science applies an open access policy to all published articles, aiming to expand opportunities for readers to access high-quality research results and enhance knowledge exchange.
Readers are free to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of the published articles without requiring registration, payment, or permission from the Journal’s Editorial Board or the authors.
For Authors:
- Manuscript Requirements: All information and data in the article must be presented accurately, objectively, and in accordance with the journal’s regulations, format, and structure. If requested by reviewers or the Editorial Board, authors must provide full access to relevant data.
- Ensuring Scientific Integrity: Authors must commit to avoiding any violations of ethical standards and intellectual property rights, specifically including: · Using works or research of individuals, groups, state agencies, enterprises, non-governmental organizations, or other organizations without proper citation; · Excessive quoting or paraphrasing of others’ works, even with full citation; · Citing sources but providing incomplete or inaccurate information about references; · Paraphrasing others’ ideas in one’s own writing style; · “Self-Plagiarism”: Reusing substantial parts from one’s own previously published research in new academic works (as author or co-author) without clear citation, or using more than 25% of content from previously published works.
The journal uses iThenticate software to detect duplication or plagiarism in academic works and to identify the sources copied from. Articles are considered in violation if they contain verbatim copying of 10 words or more from a single source, more than 2% from any one source, an overall similarity rate of 25% or higher, or if they only change the title or data while retaining the core content.
- Copyright: Van Hien University Journal of Science reserves the right to publish and disseminate authors’ manuscripts in its publications. Authors retain copyright in accordance with the Law on Intellectual Property of Vietnam and regulations of international organizations of which the journal is a member. All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the work. The order of authors’ names is arranged based on the consensus of the entire research group. Any changes in authorship (addition, update, or reordering) require the consent of all group members and must be approved by the Editorial Board according to the journal’s regulations. If authors discover errors or inaccuracies in a published article, they are responsible for promptly notifying the journal for correction or retraction. In cases where the Editorial Board detects errors after publication, authors must cooperate to resolve the issue.
- Conflicts of Interest: Authors must clearly disclose any financial conflicts of interest or other conflicts that may influence the evaluation of the manuscript. All funding sources for the research project must be declared or mentioned in the manuscript.
- Risks and Studies Involving Humans or Animals: For studies involving hazardous chemicals, procedures, or equipment, authors must clearly state in the article that they have strictly complied with Vietnamese laws and relevant international guidelines. The privacy and confidentiality of personal information (such as personal data, images, medical records, etc.) must be protected, and informed consent must be obtained from participants. The manuscript must include a statement confirming approval from the relevant ethics committee or institutional review board, along with all necessary details.
For Reviewers:
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must not use or share any information about the manuscript with anyone, including the authors, without permission from the Editorial Board.
- Conflicts of Interest: If reviewers detect or suspect any violation of the journal’s double-blind review policy, conflicts of interest, disputes regarding authorship contributions, breaches of ethical standards or intellectual property (including duplication or similarity between manuscripts), or violations of other journal policies — at any stage of review, editing, acceptance, or publication — they must notify the journal in writing with supporting evidence for appropriate resolution.
- Objectivity: Reviewers must provide comments only on the professional aspects (content and presentation) of the manuscript using the form provided by the journal. Comments must be clear, specific, and consistent with the scientific value of the article.
For the Editorial Board:
- Publication Process: All manuscripts are submitted, preliminarily reviewed, peer-reviewed, edited, and accepted through the journal’s online system to ensure transparency and openness for all parties involved. The Editorial Board is responsible for the final decision on acceptance based on expert reviewers’ opinions. Evaluation is based on the quality and scientific value of the article.
- Confidentiality: Van Hien University Journal of Science is committed to implementing a double-blind review process and protecting manuscript information throughout the publication process. Personal information of users is used only for the journal’s stated purposes and will not be provided to any third party or used for other purposes.
- Conflicts of Interest: Editorial Board members must not use information from unpublished manuscripts for their own research without the author’s consent; they must not review or evaluate manuscripts in which they are involved as authors, or manuscripts where there is a conflict of interest due to competition, collaboration, or relationships within the same institution, company, or organization. Board members must disclose any relevant conflicts of interest (if any) during the publication process.
Van Hien University Journal of Science has the right to publish and disseminate authors’ manuscripts in its publications. Authors retain copyright in accordance with the Law on Intellectual Property of Vietnam and regulations of international organizations that the journal participates in. Readers may copy and share the content of articles published in the journal; however, they must properly cite and reference the articles in full to respect the intellectual property rights of the authors.
Effective from January 1, 2022, Van Hien University Journal of Science will no longer pay royalties and will begin charging an editorial and publication fee. The fee is collected when the article is placed in the peer-review queue. Articles will only be sent for review after the author completes the payment procedure. This fee applies to authors outside Van Hien University and to articles in the following fields/disciplines: Literature, Economics, Culture – Arts – Physical Education and Sports – Tourism, and Education.
