Abstract

Gabriel García Márquez and Mario Vargas Llosa were two famous writers and considered the most significant Spanish-language authors of the 20th century, especially won the Nobel Prizes in Literature in 1982 and in 2010. Many of their novels have inherited traditions of Latin American literature. On the other hand, they were somewhat rebellious from the general point of view of Latin America culture. The themes regularly appeared in Márquez and Llosa's novels as "indigene" and "exoticism", from which they showed unique reflections on the cultural identity of Latin America.
