Abstract | PDF (603.5K)

Abstract

With only 17 syllables, Haiku poetry has risen in popularity as the world’s shortest form of poetry. As a rare and popular art form, Haiku poetry has spread over the globe, producing a number of well-known poets whose works have been well-known throughout the world since ancient times. Near the end of the Edo period, Kobayashi Issa made his debut, producing Haiku poetry in his own distinctive and unique style. Issa developed a distinct yet highly rustic Haiku form that was relevant to people’s lives at the time while also transcending Haiku’s language limitations. As a result, many people are familiar with and enjoy Issa’s Haiku. In the contemporary time, along with the current literary development trend, Issa’s Haiku reawakened the literary value of Issa, who popularized Haiku in the public

Abstract

Motifs of multiple births appear pretty many in Vietnamese folklore, and they have differences, and changes in genres. In mythology, this motif presents the formations of “mankind”, “everybody” - people of the same clan, and country. In legends, this motif has less of the number of people/ number of bearing - normally, twin. Characters of multiple births are symbols of people - they always go with, and agree with national heroes. In these two genres, folk use unreal elements, and miracles when they describe multiple births children. In fairy tales, folk doesn’t describe miracles in bearing, but decrease the art of the unreal to concentrate to describe characters’ fates. Therefore, motifs of multiple births have movement progresses, changes to reflect bearing shown in number, shown in miracle elements.
