Abstract | PDF (15.3M)

Abstract

The research undertake surveys on the ethnic structures along the Ba River is not merely a statistical work on monuments in an administrative area belonging to a certain province. History has shown that the Ba River was a vibrant intersection serving as a conjunction between ethnic communities on the territory that opened its doors to receive flows of foreign cultures many centuries ago. The port here served as a meeting point attracting sea traders from many countries within and outside of Southeast Asia. Apart from this characteristic, preserved relics from the Le Dynasty show that besides the Vietnamese culture there are signs of Chinese migration and that there was a interlinked relation between Vietnamese, Cham, Chinese, Ede, Jarar and Bahnar... This is a colorful portrait showing the subtle process of integration of Vietnamese in the nowadays Southern Central part of Vietnam. In the context of this co-existence with other powerful ethnic groups it becomes clear that from the very beginning on the Vietnamese had gradually found for themselves the necessary basis for there existence.

Abstract | PDF (9.6M)

Abstract

Asserting on intertexuality, Julia Kristeva said that: "any text is constructed as a mosaic of quotations; any text is the absorption and transformation of another". From the theory of language game by Ludwig Wittgenstein, to the point of view Petit narrative, Grand narrative by Jean-François Lyotard, theory of discourse by Michel Foucault and Jean Baudrillard's simulacra etc. we can see that the postmodernists believe the world is The world of language which is built and presented by language. So all of existence in the nature and society is "texts" and all of texts also influenced by other texts. They never get the absolute independence. Therefore, intertextuality is the essence of existence and received by the receiving forever.

Abstract | PDF (10.3M)

Abstract

In the process of writing To Hoai often pauses in order to learn from his experiences and to stress certain points of his beliefs. Derived from his life as an author with valuable experiences, from Một Số Kinh Nghiệm Viết Văn Của Tôi (My experiences from writing, 1959) to Só Tay Viết Văn (Writing manual, 1977) and Nghệ Thuật Và Phương Pháp Viết Văn (Art and the method of writing, 1997), To Hoai has gone much more far than just writing about his personal experiences. He came to theoretical conclusions. To Hoais works on theory and his writing experiences cover such fields as: literary genres (notes, stories and novels), creative methods (ways of observation and records making, words, spoken and literary language). What To Hoai shared with us can be regarded as a deeply true full supplement to other study materials on literary theory. At the same time To Hoai shares with his readers highly valuable experiences the author has made during his life as a laborer of art.
