Abstract

In the process of writing To Hoai often pauses in order to learn from his experiences and to stress certain points of his beliefs. Derived from his life as an author with valuable experiences, from Một Số Kinh Nghiệm Viết Văn Của Tôi (My experiences from writing, 1959) to Só Tay Viết Văn (Writing manual, 1977) and Nghệ Thuật Và Phương Pháp Viết Văn (Art and the method of writing, 1997), To Hoai has gone much more far than just writing about his personal experiences. He came to theoretical conclusions. To Hoais works on theory and his writing experiences cover such fields as: literary genres (notes, stories and novels), creative methods (ways of observation and records making, words, spoken and literary language). What To Hoai shared with us can be regarded as a deeply true full supplement to other study materials on literary theory. At the same time To Hoai shares with his readers highly valuable experiences the author has made during his life as a laborer of art.
