Abstract

Kon Tum Prison is considered hell on earth, where the first communist soldiers in the Central Highlands were imprisoned. Here, during the oppression of imprisonment, communist prisoners sang heroic poems, typically the Tao dan nguc that (Tao Dan Prison) writing movement. Although it only took place for a short time and the number of authors and works was not many, the poems were sung from prison cells are valuable in diverse facets. With various poetic forms and simple language, the poems are sharp denunciations of the enemies' crimes, expressing the patriotism, comradeship, resilience, and optimism of communist prisoners. This article initially explores and understands the inner thoughts of revolutionary soldiers, thereby affirming the value and position of poems written from Kon Tum prison. Moreover, it contributes to perfecting the appearance of literature written in Vietnamese prisons.
