Abstract

The event is a required attribute of a narrative text, but since quite a long time there has been little in-depth studies on this category found in the books and textbooks on literary theory. Based on the ideas of modern theorists, like Bakhtin, Lotman, Tiupa and Schmid, author of this study presents the modern interpretation of the categories of event, event-like, the conditions and the diverse expressions of event categories events, which enables us to recognize the characteristic style and poetics of a narrative text, and explains the narrative element as well as the non-plot characteristic of a narrative text.
