Abstract

The Thousand and One Nights, one of the Arab literature, was translated and favoured in Vietnam. Researching on The Thousand and One Nights not only contributed an insight on literary work of medieval period but also had a great significant role in studying general Islamic culture. Referring to this, it is unforgetable to mention the art of the creating situations. It is understood as a way of creating “the situation of the story”, the condition contained in its contradictions, conflict or potential to progress the storyline, characters revealing their personality. The artical focuses on clarifying the art of the creating situations in The Thousand and One Nights – an important factor to make the work successful in terms of how to tell.
